Research Associate

Caraway Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated and energetic research associate interested in supporting our neurological and rare disease programs. The successful applicant will be working on the development of cell-based and in vitro assays to support ongoing projects, and performing assays to assess potential biomarkers. They will be expected to provide strong technical expertise and make significant contributions to Caraway’s research to ensure efficient and timely execution of the project’s deliverables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create new cell lines
  • Responsible for development and implementation of cell-based assays to assess target engagement and function of target proteins
  • Perform analyses of potential biomarkers from various in vitro and in vivo
  • Support identification and validation of potential therapeutic targets and biomarkers analysis
  • Maintain cell lines and perform primary cell isolation
  • Contribute to the planning, design and execution of experiments and data analysis
  • Present data at internal and external meetings
  • Diligently maintain laboratory records/notebooks and contribute to writing study reports, regulatory submissions, patent applications and publications in peer-reviewed journals, as appropriate

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • BA/BS in Biology or a related field
  • Hands on experience with protein and RNA analytical techniques including Quantitative Western Blot, ELISA, and imaging techniques
  • Experience in cell culture techniques
  • Experience with tissue culture, basic molecular biology and biochemical assays
  • Applicants should be organized, self-motivated, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong oral and written communication skills as well as analytical and computer proficiencies
