Scientist I / II, Biology
Caraway Therapeutics is seeking a PhD-level scientist to join our Biology team. We are exploring multiple exciting targets for the treatment of neurological disorders and rare diseases, uniquely focused on activating cellular clearance to remove toxic aggregates and defective cellular components. Caraway’s Biology team drives the drug development pipeline from the identification and validation of new targets to screening, supporting SAR, and IND-enabling efficacy experiments. We are seeking a colleague to join us in creating the next generation of small molecule therapies for patients suffering from severe diseases like Parkinson’s and ALS.
This position will focus on the validation of new technologies and in vitro assays to support drug development on existing or new targets. The Scientist will identify, design and execute in vitro experiments at varying scales. They will also direct external studies and projects at CROs, including in vivo experiments. Applicants should have a PhD in Biology or a related discipline, with 2+ years of postdoc and/or industry experience in the fields of neuroscience, immunology, or rare disease. Scientific creativity, careful and rigorous attention to experimental detail, and the ability to adapt to a rapidly evolving research landscape are key attributes of the ideal candidate. Caraway is a highly collaborative work environment, so strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of an integrated team are critical. Experience with diverse in vitro biology techniques, including cell/tissue culture, microscopy, molecular biology, and biochemistry are desired. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US.
